CNC Machining at EMO: Biglia presents compact CNC turning centre

At the Biglia stand (Hall 17, D61) there will be new things to discover, for example the compact CNC turning centre Biglia BMX 45Y2, which will replace the successful B 438Y2 in the range of the leading Italian turning machine manufacturer.
The BMX 45Y2 from Biglia is ideal for the complete machining of complex bar parts up to a diameter of 45 mm and a length of 180 mm. Thanks to the 3-channel control (Mitsubishi M830 V) and the counter spindle that can be moved in the X and Z axes, it is possible to work simultaneously with the two turrets on the main spindle and with a rear tool on the counter spindle. The tailstock mounted above the headstock and the counter spindle that can be traversed in the X axis make it possible for relatively long workpieces to be supported and still be machined in four axes.
A piece of information by the way: In future, all Biglia CNC machines with two turrets will bear the “X” in their name, which stands for the possibility of four-axis simultaneous machining.
Another highlight on the Biglia stand is the Biglia B 620YS turning centre controlled by the new Fanuc i-HMI CNC, which is suitable for bar machining up to 71 mm in diameter. It is equipped with a 6-inch motor spindle, 5-inch counter spindle and with Y-axis (± 45 mm). The turning length is 620 mm, the maximum turning diameter is 350 mm. A special feature is the tool turret with 15 stations and semi-direct drive. The water-cooled motor with integrated oil/air minimum quantity lubrication drives the tools at 6000 min-1. On display at the trade fair machine is the optionally available fully integrated finished part handling system, which makes it possible to eject sensitive turned parts without damage.
The Biglia B 465T2Y2 double-spindle CNC turning centre with its two turrets, two Y-axes and 24 driven tool stations is also ideal for complex components. Its advantages are the compact overall design, the stiff, precise turret as well as its versatility and high productivity. The machine bed is inclined by 30° and consists of a heavily ribbed Mehanite casting. Above all, the counter spindle, which can be lowered by 120 mm, offers decisive advantages: it enables parallel machining on the face of the main and counter spindles. This also makes it possible to use long boring tools.
